Making Room: New Models for Housing New Yorkers" was an exhibition organized by the Museum of the City of New York in conjunction with Citizens Housing & Planning Council (CHPC) to showcase innovative design solutions to better accommodate New York City's changing demographics, including a rising number of single people. The exhibit was open for nine months - including an extended month due to popular demand. Built right into the gallery, in collaboration with Clei and Resource Furniture, the heart of Making Room was "LaunchPad" a full-scale, 325-square-foot micro-apartment designed with a hyper-efficient layout and multifunctional furniture to maximize space, LaunchPad demonstrates how a flexible space can make a micro apartment feel and function like a much bigger unit.
